Sud Ouest: the Michael Jackson lookalike opens the film

In its Tuesday 21 April 2026 edition, in the Blayais and Cubzaguais pages, regional daily Sud Ouest ran an article on local artist Alexandre Masse, aka Alex Jackson, the day before his opening show for the “Michael” film.

From Périgueux to Gironde

Born in 1995 in Périgueux, Alexandre discovered Michael Jackson in 2009, aged 14, when the star was all over television. His grandfather, who had ALS, could move less and less: Alexandre entertained him by dancing to the King of Pop’s songs, after practising in front of a mirror. Partly in his memory, he decided to carry on.

The moonwalk and the first stages

Alongside film and communication studies, he earned a master’s degree as a web and multimedia project manager and kept refining his show. He performed around Martignas-sur-Jalle, at the Téléthon, the Fête de la Musique and birthdays, gradually building up several stage costumes. He also travelled to Neverland, California, to dance the moonwalk in front of its gates, a video available on his YouTube channel.

La Dauge and the 2023 comeback

Self-employed since 2017 and living in Virsac, he joined La Dauge, a hybrid space for cultural, social and solidarity projects in Saint-André-de-Cubzac, when it opened in 2020. In 2023 he resumed his shows of about 1 h 30, with new wigs and costumes. Thanks to Marine Badie and her dance school in Ambarès, he is now joined on stage by several dancers.

15 minutes before “Michael”

On Thursday 22 April at 9 pm, at Villa Monciné, Alex Jackson and his dancers gave a fifteen-minute show before the screening. The artist said he was getting more and more requests, including a call from a show producer in Spain, and that he wants to create a dance school around Michael Jackson.
